She makes linen garments and sells them and supplies sashes for the merchants.
This week I had the pleasure of speaking with a dear sister in Christ regarding our Proverbs 31 woman. During this talk it came up how this goal seemed so unattainable. We are seventeen chapters in and it seems like each week is a new thing I need to work on however, during our talk we discussed how these attributes of the Proverbs 31 woman may not look the same in today’s world. We can still be this woman and not sell garments in a marketplace. The overwhelming theme of each week is how this woman loves and cares for the people she has been gifted with. She has a love so fierce for her Creator that it causes her to continually be demonstrating this love in every aspect of her life. She takes care of her family with the strength of a lioness. She cares for the poor with the compassion of Christ. She works to make this world a more beautiful place for her family and the people she loves. So this week we read about one more way she does all three of these things. She sells her beautiful works of art for profit. Again, showing one more way to take care of her family by helping to provide financially. Not only is she making a profit but she is also getting more beauty that she creates out into the world.
This week I want you all to focus on how you can apply this to your life. It doesn’t have to be selling something but one way to push the beauty that you create in your home for your family out into the world to make it a more beautiful place for your family to walk out into.
