She extends her hand to the poor, Yes she reaches out her hands to the needy.
This week rather than reading extra and asking you to comment I am asking you to focus on doing something to help another person. Stop and pray right now for God to show you some way, some person, some place to volunteer. Ask God to show you somebody who needs ministered to. Ask God to show you someplace you can volunteer to help somebody in need. This week put your focus on being God’s hands.
The last part of our chapter for this week says ‘Love has hands to help others. It has feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has ears to hear the sighs and sorrow of men. This is what love looks like.’ Love is not a warm feeling you get. Love is an action. Mark 12:30-31 tells us:
‘30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.’
Love the Lord with all your strength. In 1 John 3:18 we are told:
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
So we are told to love with action and all your strength. This is love extends to not just our home but to others as we see in Mark 12:30-31. So this week make your focus showing love to our neighbors with action.
